How to write a UU

If only the Common App itself, with its blanks to fill in, recommendations to round up, and core essay to conceive, were all there was to it. But it’s not. Many colleges have supplementary application pages, often including a supplementary essay, the topic of which tends to go something like this:

  • “What characteristics of Penn and yourself
make the University a particularly good match for you?”
  • “Please relate your interest in Georgetown University
    to your future goals…”
  • “Tell us how you first became interested in Columbia
and what you find most appealing about the school?”
  • “Is there something in particular you anticipate contributing
    to the Duke community?”

Face enough questions requiring an individually tailored response—why, it’s enough to make you consider limiting to under ten the number of schools you apply to!

Fortunately, Uniquely U. has devised a template for coping with this problem—one that enables you to plug in rich specific detail about each college to which you are applying, yet can be used on multiple applications—the way Justin, a UU senior, did.
